APPARATUS FOR COMBUSTION OF BIOMASS WITH HIGH WATER CONTENT

Wood chips are divided into two portions and mixed with coal. One portion of mixture is pre-dried in the pre-drier then led into a partially isolated first zone of a boiler. The other portion of mixture is also pre-dried, then led into a milling and drying mill. The milled and dried material is led into the second zone of boiler above the first zone. Hot flue gas is led out from a third zone above the second zone and re-circulated to the fuel. Tertiary air with overheated steam is blown into the fourth zone above the third zone to finish burning of gas and solid material that is not combusted. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for burning biomass of high moisture content.
