A safety device is disclosed for damping or preventing the movements of a broken section of a piping system (1). In a first embodiment, at least two stiff or deformable traction bars (5) bridge a possible breaking point (2) so as to prevent it from breaking. In another embodiment, a part of the piping system (1) is supported by a buttress (7) at a branch (6) or fitting housing so as to prevent it from breaking. The branch (6) is further joined to the buttress (7) by at least two deformable traction bars (5), in particular a deformable hoop (11).
