A cDNA encoding human interleukin-3, also designatedherein hIL-3 or hmulti-CSF, has been disposed in expressionsystems and caused to produce hIL-3 substantially free ofimpurities normally accompanying this protein as it isproduced inter alia by peripheral blood lymphocytes in nature.The resulting hIL-3 can be produced in practical amounts andis useful in a variety of therapeutic and diagnosticprotocols.
