ARBOR AND CIRCULAR SAW WITH ASYMMETRIC SPLINE HAVING GENERALLY RADIAL FORCE-TRANSMITTING FACE

An arbor is formed with uniformly-spaced splineseach of which has a cross-section in the shape of anasymmetric trapezoid. The leading force transmittingface of each of the splines is disposed at an anglelagging by about seven degrees from a trulyradially- extending plane of the arbor. The trailing face of eachof the splines is disposed other than in a generallyradially-extending plane of the arbor. A circular sawblade mounted on the arbor has a central opening or eyeformed with complementarily shaped recesses such thatthe arbor splines fit within the recesses in the eye fortransmission of torque from arbor to saw.
