The present invention provides a digital broadcast recording apparatus whichcan prevent unnecessary recording in situations where descrambling is notpossible or prohibited during scrambled video recording. The digital broadcastrecording apparatus includes: a descrambling judgment unit (515) which detectsa channel where a descrambling-not-possible situation occurs; and a servicemanager (1204) which terminates the recording and writes, into a managementtable, that a descrambling-not-possible situation has occurred duringrecording, when there is recording data showing that recording is beingexecuted on the channel which is detected as having the descrambling-not-possible situation.
