A conveyor cleaning brush assembly (2) includes a brush (5) coupled to a frame and movable to different positions with respect to a conveyor surface (1) to be cleaned by the brush. The brush can be substantially elongated, and in some embodiments is rotatable about two or more axes that can extend in a machine direction of the conveyor surface, in a cross-machine direction of the conveyor surface, or in any other direction therebetween. The brush can be coupled to and movable along a beam (22) coupled to the frame so that the brush may be moved to different cross-machine positions of the conveyor surface. The brush may also be moved into and out of engagement with the conveyor surface by, for example, movement of the beam to which the brush is connected.
