The invention relates to a method and a device for exposing a sample to radiation for the purpose of testing the aging of samples, more specifically, to a device which has a chamber (30) and which comprises a sample support cage (40) that can rotate about an axis (H): and means (15) for arranging at least one electromagnetic radiation lamp (10) in a fixed position and supplying said lamp, in the central part of the cage. The invention provides for an air circulation system with an air flow that swirls about the axis (H) of the cage, this air flow having components which are mainly tangential and/or radial in relation to the periphery of the cage, and mainly axial components (H) in the central part of the cage. The cage (40) is preferably mounted in such a way that it can rotate on an axially hollowed-out hub. The cylindrical chamber (30) preferably comprised air inlets (31) which are arranged essentially on the periphery of the cage (40) and which are arranged non-radially. The invention provides that the device should function with the axis (H) of the rotating cage (40) arranged in a horizontal direction.
