Position determining method for a terminal and the apparatus under GPSONE IS-801 standard environment

PURPOSE: A method for deciding a position of a terminal under GPS1 IS-801 standard environment and an apparatus thereof are provided to improve efficiency of using a session of a position deciding server by removing intermediate standby time. CONSTITUTION: A terminal transmits first position information to a position deciding server(S10). A session managing device of the position deciding server receives the first position information and stores the first position information in a storing unit, and transmits the first position information to a position deciding module(S20,S30). The position deciding module processes auxiliary data based on the first position information for transmitting the auxiliary data to the terminal through the session managing device(S40). The session managing device forcibly terminates a session maintained by the position deciding module(S50). The terminal finds out a satellite based on the auxiliary data and transmits second position information to the position deciding server(S60). The session managing device stores the second position information in the storing unit, and transmits the first position information to the position deciding module(S70,S80). The position deciding module resumes the session and processes auxiliary data to transmit the auxiliary data to the session managing device(S90). The session managing device transmits the stored second position information to the position deciding module to decide a position(S100).
