The invention relates to a pin separation unit for an automatic cableless bowling-pin setting device. Said unit comprises a revolving disc that is surrounded by a stationary delimiting wall, in which at least one exit opening for an individual pin is configured and a separation element, which is located at the exit opening at a radial distance from the delimiting wall and which separates the incoming pins lying against one another, in such a way that only one pin can emerge from the exit opening. The separation element is configured as a ramp, which rises obliquely from the surface of the disc. The separation unit can also comprise a guide element that is connected to the ramp, or if there is no ramp, can comprise a guide element that is located upstream of the exit opening.
