FIELD: transport engineering; passive safety devices.;SUBSTANCE: proposed for activating passive safety means at side collisions contains piezoelectric transducer made in form of at least one flat piezoelectric element. Piezoelectric transducer is arranged in side door of car and is electrically connected with system for activating passive safety means including series-connected reservoir capacitor, switch threshold element and electric igniter designed for activating pyrogas generator inflating safety air bag in emergency. Reservoir capacitor is connected in parallel with piezoelectric transducer. Piezoelectric transducer is installed on rigid support higher than level of seat with clearance relative to force-transmitting element whose part plays outer panel of door.
