FIELD: methods of electrochemical treatment of the metallic surfaces.;SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of the electrochemical methods of treatment of the metallic surfaces and may be used for removal of the paint-and-lacquer coatings, oxide scales and the scum from the surface of metals. The method provides for purification of the metallic surfaces in the water solution of a salt. At that for formation of a spark discharge in the point of the contact of the metal-nonelectroconductive material- solution the value of the direct voltage applied to the electrodes set equal to 60 - 100 V.
