The cleaner for a pollutant loaded fluid uses an electron beam (18) to impact the fluid with electrons. In the flow direction of the fluid the electron beam (18) has a gas injector (20) to produce a two phase flow. The gas injector can cause a vortex flow in the fluid. The gas can carry a medium which is reactive with the fluid. The medium can be air or oxygen. Claims include a cleaner using the method.
