Driver assistance system for control of automobiles uses radar and video input to unit using fuzzy logic interpretation

An automobile is fitted with radar [30] and a video camera [32] that monitors conditions near to the vehicle and provides speed and position information. Information is fed to a two driver assistance modules [42,44] to provide such as safe distance, early automatic braking and accident avoidance. In addition there is an identification system [46] using fuzzy logic [56] to interpret conditions.
