The household appliance has a damper (8), which has a freewheel clutch (8.1) arranged at the hinge (6) and friction surface (8.2) arranged on the remainder of the body (2). The friction surface stays in force transmission connection with drive part (8.1.1) of freewheel clutch and door is in force transmission connection with the other drive part (8.1.2) of freewheel clutch. The door can be moved back and forth between opening and closing positions by means of a hinge at the body. The movement of the door is restrained, in the direction towards the opening position, by a damper fixed with the hinge in force transmission connection.
