The inductance used in DC to DC voltage converter is produced in planar form [13]. This has a foil [10] onto which a rectangular pattern coil is formed [16]. Connections [22] to the ends of the coil are provided by through hole contacts. An alternative has the coil formed on the surface of a ceramic substrate.
