The food slicer (1) has movable or locally fixed support faces (4,5) for the food product (2) from which the slices are cut. At least the locally fixed support face (5) has a hydrophobic surface and /or means for setting same in ultrasonic vibrations so that there is no sticking as the product moves back and forth during the change from cutting one portion to the next. The support face can be a part of the cutting edge (6).
