An injection moulding machine comprises a C-shaped frame which has a mould tensioning plate fixed to one shank, and a closure mechanism fixed to the other shank. The shank free ends are not connected and deform during the closure process when force is applied. A bar with a linkage, runs between the tensioning plate and the frame, and deforms under closure force. The tensioning plate is tipped relative to the associated machine frame shank. The tensioning plate is pressed against an adjustable stop using spring pressure. The tensioning plate (5) is slightly slanted when the linkage (7) is not deformed.
