For example, target acceleration/deceleration α*is arithmetically operated so as to make one's own vehicle speed VS coincide with a target vehicle speed V* arithmetically operated to make an actual distance L between two cars coincide with a target distance L* between two cars (S7), and a throttle actuator, an automatic transmission and a braking device are controlled on the basis of this target acceleration/deceleration α* to perform acceleration/deceleration control (S11).
