The method involves considering specific data of an ahead-driving target object (d1, v1, a1) and a preobject (d2, v2, a2) ahead-driving before the target object during determination of an desired acceleration value (plus asoll) and/or desired delay value (minus asoll) for reaching given speed (vsoll) and/or given distance (dsoll) on the target object. The specific data are considered such that a situation-probability value (WK-i) is determined from the data, and the desired acceleration value and/or delay desired value are determined in dependence of the determined situation-probability value.
