Support stop for motor vehicle, has cannon maintained in base by spigots that are broken in order to free cannon when stop is subjected to force representing pedestrian impact and higher than preset value
The stop has a base (2) supporting a cannon (3) that supports a dampening insert (4) made of impact absorbing material. The cannon is maintained in the base by spigots (9) that resist a force equal to breakdown force of a hood of a vehicle. The spigots are broken in order to free the cannon when the stop is subjected, to a force representing a pedestrian impact and higher than preset value, in axial direction of the cannon.
