PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short-arc ultra-high pressure discharge lamp capable of improving a starting property at lighting up and exerting excellent heat-radiating action at normal lighting.;SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes 10 are arranged in opposition at an interval of 2 mm or smaller in an arc tube 11 formed of quartz glass in which 11 mercury by 0.15 mg/mm³, rare gas, and halogen within a range of 1×10^-6 to 1×10^-2μmol/mm³ are sealed. At least either of the pair of electrodes 10 is formed of a tip cluster part 21, a pair of pleat parts 22 arranged behind it at an interval, and an electrode shaft 23 formed by cutting one member.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
