PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle separation method for efficiently and selectively recovering particles of a roughly isotropic shape by screening; a particle separation apparatus performing such a particle separation method; grinding powder recovered by the particle separation method and materializing grinding with high grinding accuracy; a method of manufacturing a flat display panel substrate for efficiently forming a barrier rib using the powder; the flat display panel substrate manufactured by such a method; and a flat display panel and electronic equipment each equipped with the substrate.;SOLUTION: A powdery mixture containing first particles of the roughly isotropic shape and second rectangular particles with an average length of short sides less than an average particle size of the first particles and an average length of long sides longer than the average particle size of the first particles, is screened with the particle separation apparatus 1.
