PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aseptic packaged cooked rice excellent in taste comprising making rice grains sufficiently absorb water in its inner part so as to prevent defective rice cooking: and to provide a device for producing aseptic packaged cooked rice.;SOLUTION: The device for producing aseptic packaged cooked rice is provided with the following: a rice measuring and charging part 5; a water measuring and charging part 6; a temporarily sealing part 7; rice cooking/steaming parts 11, 14 cooking the whole of a tray temporarily sealed; and a sealing and packaging part 17 performing vacuum cooling, gas exchange, and sealing of a ventilation part in a common chamber.
