METHOD FOR RENEWING CITRUS TREE BREEDING

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for renewing a citrus tree breeding, capable of safely and efficiently performing work of fruit thinning and harvesting, and retaining tree vigour for a long period. PSOLUTION: This method for renewing the breed of a citrus tree having a tree height of more than 1.6 m comprises (1) grafting a shoot of a renewed breed onto a part at a height of 0.3-1.6 m from the ground of the tree so as to take root and (2) retaining at least part of photosynthesis function of leaves adhering to main branches of the tree.
