PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of a pattern after sewing is completed, when sewing with a workpiece having a curved face (for example, a hat) set on a retaining frame at an inclination angle δ.;SOLUTION: When setting the workpiece in the retaining frame in such a manner that a prescribed sewing datum line R in the workpiece formes a desired angle δ with respect to the rotation circumference direction of the retaining frame, this sewing machine corrects desired sewing pattern data according to a prescribed correction function using the desired angle δ as a parameter, and sews the workpiece while relatively rotating and linearly moving the retaining frame according to the corrected sewing pattern data. This method can create a pattern in an approximately parallel to the datum line R in the sewing finished state according to the sewing pattern data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
