PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device in which the performance of a directive diversity is improved, and to provide a card type module using this antenna device. PSOLUTION: In the diversity antenna device, a first antenna and a second antenna are arranged on one surface of a circuit board with a space sandwiched, and any one or both of the first and the second antennas are selectively connected to a transmission/reception circuit to perform transmission/reception. In this device, the first and the second antennas are each a surface-mounted antenna provided with a radiation electrode exciting at λ/2 or λ/4 with respect to a wavelength (λ) of a transmission/reception frequency, a grounding electrode, and a feeding electrode, which are provided on the surface of a substrate. The first and the second chip antennas are oppositely arranged on corner positions of a circuit board so that a resonance current in a diagonal direction which is excited from the first chip antenna onto the circuit board cross a resonance current in a diagonal direction which is excited from the second chip antenna onto the circuit board approximately at right angles.
