PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductive oxide being an oxide excelling chemical stability and containing Zr, having high proton conductivity, and having low conductivity for carriers other than protons; to provide an oxide proton conductive film formed of the proton conductive oxide; to provide a hydrogen-permeable structure containing the oxide proton conductive film as a constituent; and to provide a fuel cell using the hydrogen-permeable structure. PSOLUTION: This proton conductive oxide is characterized by containing Zr, an alkaline earth metal A, and preferably further containing one or more kinds of elements M selected from a group comprising Nd, Al, Y, In, Yb, Sc, Gd, Sm and Pr, and by satisfying 1.1A/(Zr+M) (atom ratio). This oxide proton conductive film is formed of the proton conductive oxide. This hydrogen-permeable structure contains the oxide proton conductive film as a constituent.
