PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute a load for generating raster data and a page description language by a host.;SOLUTION: A print server receives a request for instruction of a processing method of a graphic command corresponding to a print job from the host. In response to the said request, the print server decides whether a raster image processing section on the host carries out raster image processing of the graphic command or other one or a plurality of raster image processing sections carries out it. When the print serve decides that the raster image processing by the raster image processing section on the host is more effective, the print server instructs the host to rasterize the graphic command. When the print server decides that the raster image processing by other one or several raster image processing sections is more effective, the print server instructs the host to render the graphic command to the page description language.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
