PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film which makes it possible to manufacture an adhesive film more accurately controlled in its thickness than before by a method for forming the adhesive film by coating the mold release layer of the release film with a coating agent and solidifying the coating layer of the release film, and the adhesive film formed using the release film.;SOLUTION: The base material of the release film is formed of a porous polyester film with a thickness irregularity of 5% or below and a void ratio of 5-50 vol.%. Further, the radiation absorbance of the polyester film is preferably set to 85% or below of a non-porous state by making the polyester film porous. Furthermore, the polyester film preferably contains 0.2-20 vol.% of an inorganic filler.
