The acrylic board and its production mannered null methyl methacrylate

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject acrylic plate, excellent in driving properties for a hard material and hardly causing cracks even when a nail or a screw is driven thereinto by including a methyl methacrylate-based polymer and a plasticizer therein. ;SOLUTION: This acrylic plate for driving a hard material thereinto comprises a resin composition containing 50-85 wt.% methyl methacrylate-based polymer and 15-50 wt.% plasticizer compatible therewith (e.g. acetyl tributyl citrate). The acrylic plate is produced by mixing a syrup consisting essentially of methyl methacrylate with the plasticizer, injecting the resultant mixture into a mold and polymerizing the mixture. The methyl methacrylate-based polymer is a polymer of a mixture containing ≥50 wt.% methyl methacrylate and further an unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with the methyl methacrylate [e.g. methyl acrylate or ethyl (meth)acrylate] and, e.g. an antioxidant, an ultraviolet absorber or a polymerization inhibitor, as necessary, can be added thereto.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
