PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geological disposal facility and a method for disposing of wastes which stabilize and enable the conveyance in a main gallery and a disposal pit by improving the structure of a branch section between the main gallery and the disposal pit in the geological disposal facility.;SOLUTION: In the geological disposal facility in this invention, the wastes are conveyed and stationed by branching the disposal pit 13 orthogonally from the main gallery 12. An auxiliary supporting part 22 for supporting the load of the wastes is formed in a covered part of the disposal pit 13. The cross section between the main gallery 12 and the disposal pit 13 is minimized by characterizing the structure of the facility in that the conveyance roadbed of the disposal pit 13 are different from that of the main gallery 12 in the height of them. At the same time, the area for stationing the wastes is widely occupied by lessening the interval distance in the disposal pits 13 and the distance of a stationing start region of the wastes in the disposal pit 13 from the main gallery 12 while reducing the softening of the bedrock around the branch section and a damaged region due to the dig of the branch section.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
