PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture-retaining skin care preparation and a chapped skin-improving skin care preparation each for external use and which have a moisture-retaining effect and an excellent chapped skin-improving effect. PSOLUTION: Researches have zealously been repeated to obtain an ingredient having an excellent moisture-retaining property and an excellent chapped skin-improving and preventing effect. Consequently, the moisture-retaining skin care preparation and the chapped skin-improving skin care preparation containing the extracts of one or more plants selected from plants belonging to Morina, Pterocephalus and Triplostegia and having the excellent moisture-retaining effect and the excellent chapped skin-improving effect can be obtained.
