PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cemented carbide-made cutting tool with a surface clad of which the clad layer for wear resistance is exerting excellent heat dissipativity. ;SOLUTION: The cemented carbide-made cutting tool with the surface clad is made by physically and vaporously depositing the clad layer for the wear resistance comprised of (a)-(d) below, (a) a base toughness layer comprising any layer among the carbide layer, the nitride layer, and the carbo-nitride layer of Ti, (b) a lower side hard layer comprising the composite nitride layer of Ti and Al shown with a formula: [Ti1-XAlX]N and the same [Ti1-XAlX]C1-mNm (X: 0.30-0.70, m: 0.6-0.99) and the composite carbo-nitride layer of Ti and Al, (c) an upper side hard layer comprising aluminum oxide, (d) a superficial heat dissipative layer comprising aluminum nitride on the surface in the basic body of the tool comprised of tungsten carbide base cemented carbide or titanium carbo-nitride base cermet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
