PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cemented carbide-made cutting tool with a surface clad of which the clad layer for wear resistance is exerting excellent chipping resistance property. ;SOLUTION: This cutting tool is made by physically and vaporously depositing the clad layer for the wear resistance comprised of a tough layer comprising a single layer made of one kind or double layers made of two kinds among the carbide layer, the nitride layer and the carbo-nitride layer of Ti, and having an average layer thickness of 0.1-10 μm, a lower side hard layer comprising a single layer made of either the composite nitride layer of Ti and Al or the composite carbo-nitride layer of Ti and Al, or double layers made of both of them, and having the average layer thickness of 0.1-15 μm, an intermediately adherent layer comprising a single layer made of either the composite carbo-oxide layer or the composite carbo-nitro-oxide layer of Ti and Al or double layers made of both of them, and having the average layer thickness of 0.1-1.0 μm, and an upper side hard layer comprising an aluminum oxide layer, and having the average layer thickness of 0.5-15 μm on the surface in the basic body of the tool comprised of tungsten carbide base cemented carbide or titanium carbo- nitride base cermet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
