Food (10) is placed on plates (9), dishes or the like and cooled, then the plates are placed inside a container (2) and a vacuum is generated inside the container via a sealable vacuum line. The food is stored under vacuum inside the container until delivery, at which point the container is supplied to the intended catering location, the gas or air inside the container is removed by opening the vacuum connection and the plates are removed from the container. An independent claim is also included for the delivery device (1).
