The invention relates to a method and a device for treating waste water containing pesticides. According to the inventive method, the waste water is directed into an electrochemical cell (14), the pesticides contained in the waste water are electrochemically oxidized at least in part in the electrochemical cell, and the waste water is then disposed of along with the oxidative decomposed products of the pesticides. The inventive device (10) is provided with a waste water circuit (11) which comprises at least one electrochemical oxidation cell (14) that is preferably fitted with boron-doped diamond electrodes. The waste water circuit (11) further comprises a conveying mechanism (13) for the waste water as well as a control unit.
