The invention relates to a method for reducing erosion corrosion in the main pipes of the primary circuit of a CANDU-type nuclear power station. According to the invention, the roughness, caused by the nuclear power station functioning, to the interior wall surface of the pipes extant in the primary heat exchanger side of a steam generator, located in the primary circuit, is reduced by the treatment with a material in the form of a jet.
