The composition contains a purine as a biocidal effectiveness enhancing agent. A composition (A) comprises at least one biocidal agent (B) and a purine (C). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Use of a purine as an agent for significantly enhancing the effectiveness of a biocidal agent or composition; and (2) Use of (C) for the preparation of (A).
