The method involves collecting a set of bank notes (1) at a location of commerce (2), and safe-keeping the bank notes. The bank notes are registered using an identity code (3) of each bank note, in connection with collecting the bank notes. The banknotes are registered and designated as invalid. The identity code of the bank note is registered at a later occasion at a location of revalidation, and designating the banknote as valid. A central computing device is arranged to authorize a specific validation device (7) to validate the bank note.
