The tunnel ventilator (1) draws air from a dust removal device (2). Dust laden air flows through a pipe (38) with rock wool sound insulation (40). It flows through a bellows connection (39) into an enlarged chamber (6) with sound insulation (18). There are two fans (4) in series surrounded by metallic dampers (33) in fan housings (3,8). There are sound damping elements (17) on either side of each fan. There is a diffuser (10) with sound insulation downstream of the fans leading to an insulated (15) sound-damping section with parallel channels (11-13).
