A catalyst is coated open porous metal foam body having numbers of pores of 3-50 ppi and the filter is open-porous ceramic foam body having number of pores of 30-80 ppi. The coated metals are ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium or platinum. The ceramic foam (2) is coated with cerium orthovanadate and consists of alumina, cordierite or silicon carbide. The porosity of the metal foam body (1) and the ceramic foam body is 70-98%. The volume of the metal foam is 5-45% of the volume of the ceramic foam body. The metal foam body is directly connected with the ceramic foam body.
