The prosthetic nucleus replacement (10, 30, 40) for implanting within an annulus fibrosis in one part of the spinal column of a person, comprising: an ellipsoidal body having a convex top side (32, 44) to enter contact and be articulated to a cartilage endplate of upper vertebra and a lower convex side (34, 46) for an immobile contact with an inferior vertebrae; and a pin (36, 48) extending from said bottom side of the ellipsoidal body and providing a clamping action with respect to said lower vertebra, wherein said convex top side having an apex dome exceeding an apex dome said lower convex side by a factor of about three.
