The present invention provides an apparatus and process forproducing plastic panels. The apparatus comprises atemperature-controlled chill roll with peripheral coolingbores in the roll body. Molding/demolding strips are movedby piston/cylinder arrangements and piston rods which movethrough bores through the roll body. The melt is filledinto molds of the molding/demolding strips by thecounterpressure between the shaping roll and a counterroll.During filling, the strips are pressed against the flatfaces of the roll body. After cooling down, the plasticpanel produced is released in a nondestructive manner byopening the molding/demolding strips. A plastic panelproduced on such a calender has undercut anchoring studs,web profiles or other forms of attachments, which areformed integrally with the plastic panel.
