LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION CONTAINING TWO MOLYBDENUM ADDITIVES

A lubricating oil composition exhibiting improved fuel economy and wet clutchfriction properties, which comprises:a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; b) at least one calcium or magnesiumoverbased detergent; c) an oil soluble dimeric molybdenumcompound; d) an oil soluble organic trinuclear molybdenum compound; e) atleast one zinc dihydrocarbyldithiophosphate compound,wherein the composition has a TBN of at least 3.6 from the calcium ormagnesium overbased detergent, a NOACK volatility of about15 wt.% or less, molybdenum in an amount up to about 350 ppm from thetrinuclear molybdenum compound, molybdenum in anamount up to 2,000 ppm from the dimeric molybdenum compound, and phosphorus inan amount up to about 0.1 wt.% from a zincdihydrocarbyldithiophosphate compound.
