This disclosure provides an absorbent article having a high bulk materialdisposedbetween the body-facing surface and the garment facing surface of the article,wherein the highbulk material is relatively low cost and the article surface is embossed inthe area of the highbulk material. Such an absorbent article desirably prevents leakage and/or hasincreasedabsorbency in the area of the high bulk material and is relatively easy andefficient tomanufacture.
