A method of providing a PWB (printed wired board) (2) with a shield can (1) which method comprises the steps of: providing an electrically conductive shield can (1) with a rim (5); providing a groove (6) on a surface of the PWB, which groove (6) has a contour corresponding to a contour of the rim of the shield can (1); applying a solder paste (7) to the PWB to substantially fill the groove (6) with solder paste; positioning the shield can (1) on the solder paste with its rim (5) aligned with the groove on the PWB; heating the PWB with the shield can and solder paste to solder the shield can to the PWB; and cooling the PWB with the shield can.
