DIGITAL CONVERGENCE PLATFORM BASED ON MPEG-21 MULTIMEDIA FRAMEWORK

A digital convergence platform based on an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group)-21 multimedia framework is provided to realize protection and transaction of digital contents by implementing the digital convergence platform converging broadcasting, communication, and multimedia based on a digital platform technology, and applying the MPEG-21 multimedia framework to the digital convergence platform. A peripheral interface(100) interfaces data with a peripheral. A network device(200) interfaces the data with the WAN(Wireless Area Network) and the LAN(Local Area Network). A memory(300) stores an OS(Operating System), middleware, and an application program. A CPU(400) executes a platform OS in the memory, controls the peripheral interface and the network device, provides an environment to operate multimedia framework software, and performs a streaming service. A DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(500) is operated through a codec downloaded from the CPU, temporarily stores and outputs A/V(Audio/Video) data through an A/V output port if the A/V data is received from the CPU, and transfers the A/V data to the CPU if the A/V data is received from an A/V input port.
