LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAYS WITH IMPROVED GRAY-SCALE

摘要

An LCD with an improved grey scale is provided to improve grey scale inversion or a viewing angle characteristic by forming a liquid crystal layer including two liquid crystal alignment regions having different alignment directions. A first substrate(200) and a second substrate(600) face each other, with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. A first pixel electrode and a first pixel driving device are formed on a part of the first substrate, and the first pixel electrode is electrically connected to the first pixel driving device. A second pixel electrode and a second pixel driving device are formed on a part of the first substrate, and the second pixel electrode is electrically connected to the second pixel driving device. A common electrode(620) is formed inside the second substrate. The first and second pixel driving devices have different ON currents(Ion) to make the first and second pixel electrodes have different voltages.
