An ATCA(Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) system for implementing duplexing through a base interface and a duplexing method using the same are provided to facilitate the duplexing implement through a structural change of software without modifying hardware. A method using an ATCA system for implementing duplexing through a base interface includes the steps of: allocating a representative IP(Internet Protocol) address to one of two ports connected to a base interface(S802); transceiving synchronization data, state information, and a routing protocol board by using the representative IP address, and transceiving a switching process of the IPC(Inter-Process Communication) board and the state information(S804); checking a link error or an error of the port to which the representative IP address is allocated(S809); and if the port error or the link error is detected according to the check result, performing switching of the port by allocating the representative IP address to another port(S810).
