APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING COOPERATIVE SCHEDULING ON MULTI-CORE SYSTEM

A device and a method for providing cooperative scheduling in a multi-core system are provided to reduce performance interference affecting other programs performed in a GPP(General Purpose Processor) by reducing quantity of tasks to be performed in the GPP and reduce context switching time for a DSP task by defining property required for the DSP task. A schedule maker(301) makes a schedule by receiving interrupt from the GPP if the new task is assigned. A memory manager(304) stores information for the performed tasks and the tasks remaining in a local memory to a main memory to make the schedule. An executor(303) loads and executes the task newly assigned according to the made schedule. A timer manager(302) sets up and manages a timer when the newly assigned task is executed. The memory processor does not store the information for a text area when the task remaining in the local memory is stored.
